No-exam life insurance
Which applicants are eligible, how the fast-track path operates, and what to expect if you don't qualify.
Most carriers provide accelerated underwriting: applicants meeting age and coverage thresholds get underwritten through application details, prescription records, driving history, and related sources rather than an in-person exam. Approvals sometimes arrive same-day. Every quote displays whether the carrier expects an exam, might order one, or doesn't require one for that specific product.
What it changes
No exam doesn't mean no underwriting—your facts get checked regardless. A policy issued based on false statements stays contestable for two years. The carrier might still order tests if its records flag concerns; you'll choose whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Most candidates under 60, requesting coverage up to each carrier's specified limit, with uncomplicated health and no tobacco use for a year or longer, qualify. Recent lab work from a medical appointment may substitute for a paramedical exam at some carriers.
Should an exam be needed, it typically involves a 20- to 30-minute appointment with a paramedical examiner who comes to your home or workplace in the Chico area, at no charge to you. For healthy applicants, exam findings often result in a better rate class, so undergoing one can actually work in your favor.
